About the course
This combined, vertically integrated six-year program builds a strong scientific base in biomedical and animal sciences before progressing into advanced clinical and medical veterinary training. Early study focuses on core veterinary biology, followed by structured Doctor of Veterinary Medicine units and extensive placements. Teaching includes case-based tutorials, labs and practical animal-handling, culminating in final-year clinical rotations in university teaching hospitals and partner sites in Veterinary Science at bachelor and doctoral level.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for professional veterinary practice across companion animal, rural mixed and production-animal settings, supported by extensive clinical placements and rotations. Career directions may include work in private clinics, government and biosecurity agencies, animal health industry roles, equine and wildlife practice, and pathways into research or specialist practice.
