About the course
This Doctor of Philosophy in Social Work and Social Policy is a higher degree by research focused on generating original knowledge that addresses real-world social issues. You will work closely with supervisors to plan and conduct independent research, with most study devoted to a substantial thesis. Curtin provides research resources and support to present work at conferences. This is a PhD/doctoral research program in sociology and social work. The programme develops research expertise in human behaviour, psychological measurement, and evidence-based intervention design.

Graduates may pursue careers as academic researchers, policy analysts, program evaluators, or senior practitioners leading evidence-based change in government, community services, NGOs and international agencies.
