About the course
This PhD enables you to undertake substantial, original research that advances health promotion, public health and health services. You will work closely with expert supervisors and can pursue topics such as health economics and program evaluation, public health policy, rural health, environmental health and the social determinants of health. Study is available on campus or online with access to Deakin’s research facilities and partnerships in Health Sciences. The programme advances health sciences research through evidence-based inquiry, clinical context, and supervised thesis development.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research and leadership careers addressing complex public health and health service challenges. Career paths include academic and research roles, policy and program evaluation positions in government, NGOs and health agencies, and specialist roles in health promotion, public health strategy, rural and community health, and health impact assessment.
