About the course
This PhD in Disability and Community Inclusion develops advanced research expertise to address disability rights, social inclusion and quality practice. You will join the Caring Futures Institute and work with people with disability, community partners and organisations on community-led, co-designed research. The program supports interdisciplinary projects across key domains such as services, safety, education and wellbeing, culminating in an original doctoral thesis in disability and inclusion research.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue research and leadership careers focused on disability, inclusion and social policy. Potential roles include researcher, policy maker, senior academic, consultant and senior manager. Employers may include universities, government agencies, statutory bodies, NGOs, private sector organisations, research institutes or self-employment. This PhD prepares you to lead evidence-based change in disability and community inclusion within sociology and social work contexts.
