About the course
This PhD is a higher degree by research focused on public health-related topics and delivered with joint supervision from Deakin University and the University of Copenhagen. Candidates spend at least six months at each institution to gain international research experience and exposure to different health systems. Research may align with areas such as health promotion, health economics, nutrition, service management, and allied health within Health Sciences. The programme advances health sciences research through evidence-based inquiry, clinical context, and supervised thesis development.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research-led careers in universities, health organisations, government and policy agencies, and international health or NGO settings. The degree develops advanced capability to design and deliver independent research, analyse complex evidence, and contribute original knowledge through a substantial thesis.
