About the course
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Wollongong is a four-year, full-time medical degree designed to develop knowledgeable, caring and competent graduates ready to begin vocational training in medicine. Learning combines face-to-face teaching, blended and online activities, self-directed study and extensive clinical placements. Teaching occurs across Wollongong, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands campuses, with additional training in rural hubs as part of a Doctoral qualification in Medicine.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to commence vocational training and enter clinical practice across a wide range of medical specialties. The program’s strong clinical placement focus and community and rural training opportunities support careers in hospital medicine, general practice and rural/remote healthcare, as well as pathways into specialist training programs.
