About the course
Bond’s Doctor of Legal Science (Research) (SJD) is a higher degree by research that combines postgraduate law coursework with an approved research thesis. You complete six postgraduate law subjects, then undertake substantial independent research supported by a team-based supervision model. As part of Bond’s HDR community, you can collaborate with research centres and access research training and support. This is a doctoral research programme in Law.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue careers requiring advanced legal research expertise, including academia and legal scholarship, policy and law reform roles, specialist research positions in government or international organisations, and senior advisory work in legal practice or industry. The program also supports publication and conference engagement, strengthening pathways into research-led leadership roles. This is a doctoral research qualification in Law.
