About the course
The Doctor of Dental Medicine is a four-year, face-to-face professional dentistry degree that prepares graduates from any discipline to become confident, ethical dentists. You’ll build capability through practice-based learning and a prescribed course of study covering life sciences, clinical dentistry and research. The program includes substantial clinical and practical placements across Sydney and rural locations, aligned to contemporary oral health needs in Australia.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to pursue registration as a dentist with the Dental Board of Australia and enter clinical practice. Career pathways include general dentistry in private practice, community and public dental services, and hospital-based dental roles, supported by experience gained through extensive clinical placements. The degree can also provide a foundation for further training and specialisation, as well as roles in dental research and oral health-related education.
