About the course
Flinders’ Sustainable Development postgraduate study examines development across society, economy and environment, with a strong focus on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals. You’ll build interdisciplinary capability to understand human impacts and address complex issues such as climate change, poverty and inequality, drawing on ecological, cultural, economic and political perspectives. Study is available on campus or online, designed for practical problem-solving in sustainable development at postgraduate level.
Career outcome
Graduates develop a broad, interdisciplinary understanding of sustainable and international development challenges, including poverty, gender inequality, environmental vulnerability and governance. The qualification supports roles across government, NGOs and international agencies, as well as consultancy and managing contractors working in development and sustainability. Potential pathways include policy and advisory work, research roles, environmental consulting, and development practice in public, private and non-government sectors.
