About the course
This graduate diploma builds on Curtin’s Graduate Certificate in Environment and Climate Emergency, extending your capability to respond to climate and environmental challenges. You’ll complete additional core units plus an optional unit aligned to your background, with learning informed by industry and government practice and current research. The course strengthens social research, analysis and stakeholder engagement for policy and practice across sustainability and climate adaptation.
What you might learn
You’ll learn to apply sustainability knowledge across social, economic and environmental dimensions, and use critical and analytical skills to develop practical pathways to sustainability. You’ll strengthen your ability to find, evaluate and synthesise evidence; communicate clearly to diverse audiences; and use digital tools to collect and share findings. The course also emphasises ethical leadership, teamwork, and culturally informed practice including First Nations perspectives.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for roles supporting environmental and sustainability practice across public and private sectors, helping organisations improve environmental responsibility and stakeholder relationships. You may work in consulting, planning and policy support, sustainability programmes, and climate adaptation initiatives. Typical employment settings include government, urban/environmental planning, construction and engineering, regional development, conservation and environment, land use, resources and energy, and transport.
