About the course
Flinders’ postgraduate Public Health courses develop contemporary public health practice to improve population health and address health inequities. The program emphasises multidisciplinary approaches, equity and inclusiveness, health promotion and disease prevention, accountability, and community participation. It supports health professionals to analyse workplace issues, design practical solutions, and translate new insights into improved access and outcomes in public health. The programme develops health sciences knowledge and practice skills aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across government, hospitals, NGOs and community health services to design, deliver and evaluate health programs and policies. Typical pathways include public health officer, health promotion practitioner, program coordinator, policy or research officer, epidemiology or surveillance support roles, and quality and prevention roles.
