About the course
HSC University Pathways is an early-entry study option for high-achieving NSW secondary students to begin UNE subjects while completing the HSC. It is designed to supplement senior school study and may provide advanced standing toward a future UNE degree. The course is offered online with multiple trimester starts, supporting a flexible pathway into university-level study in a non-award pathway format. The programme develops discipline knowledge and graduate capabilities aligned with its qualification level.
Career outcome
This pathway can help students build confidence with university learning, develop academic skills, and gain credit/advanced standing toward later undergraduate study at UNE. It supports informed course and career decision-making by letting students experience real university units early. Outcomes typically relate to smoother transition into a chosen bachelor degree rather than direct employment, as this is an enabling/pathway program. Preparing graduates for relevant professional opportunities and further study in the field.
Entry requirements
Entry is based on school principal recommendation if enrolled in a registered secondary school, or registration for secondary home schooling. If aged under 17, parent/guardian consent is required.
