About the course
Flinders’ postgraduate Critical Care Nursing program builds advanced theoretical knowledge and evidence-based practice skills for nurses working with patients with complex needs in critical care environments. You will strengthen specialist clinical reasoning, problem solving and the ability to analyse contemporary healthcare practice, while developing research-informed approaches to planning, implementing and evaluating care. This is a postgraduate nursing specialisation for critical care practice.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue specialised and leadership roles across clinical nursing settings, applying advanced skills to support individuals, families and communities and respond to complex health issues. Potential roles include clinical nurse specialist, ICU liaison nurse, case coordinator, nurse educator, nurse manager, injury management officer and nurse research assistant. This is postgraduate preparation for specialist practice in nursing, including critical care contexts. Preparing graduates for health-related roles and further study pathways matched to the programme level.
