About the course
This Certificate III qualification prepares you for entry-level work in the animal care industry through practical, hands-on training. You’ll build skills in safe animal handling, recognising behaviour, welfare checks, basic first aid and infection control, plus routine care such as walking, exercising and bathing dogs. Training uses an on-campus animal care facility with multiple species in a simulated workplace setting for Certificate III study in animal care. The programme develops laboratory safety, sample handling, and basic analytical techniques for technical roles.

Graduates can pursue entry-level roles supporting day-to-day animal care across pet and animal service settings. Typical opportunities include work in dog day care and boarding, rescue and shelter environments, pet shops and aquariums, and similar animal businesses.
