About the course
The Master of Teaching (Early Childhood) prepares graduates to teach children aged birth to eight years, with a focus on early years learning and development. The course combines current research and practice with extensive, well-supported professional placements from semester one. Graduates are equipped to identify and support the individual learning needs of every child in diverse early childhood settings.
What you might learn
Students develop the skills to evaluate children’s learning needs across backgrounds and abilities and plan responsive teaching. The program builds capability to support young children’s social, emotional and cognitive development during formative years, and to design inclusive learning experiences. It also strengthens understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives to support culturally responsive practice.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles as early childhood teachers and educators in preschool and early years settings. The qualification supports work across early learning and development services, focusing on inclusive practice and individualised support for children. Career pathways include teaching and learning roles within early childhood education providers and related childhood settings.
