About the course
This accredited Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) prepares graduates to become strategic, ethical and reflective social work practitioners. You will explore areas such as child protection, social policy and law, mental health, Indigenous health issues, and leadership in social work organisations. The course includes supervised professional practice placements and requires some on-campus learning via compulsory residential schools at the Gold Coast campus.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for professional social work practice across government and community services, health and mental health, child and family services, and policy and advocacy roles. The program’s accredited, placement-based training supports eligibility to work as a social worker in Australia and may assist with opportunities in overseas settings. This is a masters-level qualification for careers in sociology and social work.
