About the course
This professionally qualifying Master of Social Work prepares you for accredited practice, with a focus on responding to complex needs of individuals, families, groups and communities. You’ll build critical social work knowledge and skills and learn to work effectively across diverse and remote contexts, including with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. It is a Master coursework degree designed for graduates from other disciplines entering social work.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue professional roles across government, health, community and non-profit settings, supporting people and communities through assessment, advocacy, case management and program delivery. Career pathways may include social worker in hospitals and mental health services, child and family services, disability and aged care, community development, and roles in Indigenous and remote service organisations. Entry requirements
AQF level 7 bachelor degree in a relevant discipline other than Social Work that includes a minimum of 1 year full-time study in social and behavioural sciences; or equivalent.
