About the course
This two-year Master of Science (Biology) is designed for graduates seeking to deepen biology knowledge through advanced theory and practical learning. You’ll build professional and ethical capability and explore biology’s social, economic, cultural and environmental dimensions. The program offers broad elective choice and culminates in a second-year masters research project at Flinders University in the sciences discipline. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue careers across diverse ‘white’ and ‘green’ biology fields, including medical and clinical research, genetics, microbiology, bioinformatics and related applied science areas. Potential roles include genetic counsellor, research scientist, epidemiologist, biophysicist and biotechnologist, with opportunities in universities, schools, clinical research organisations, government resource planning bodies, biotech companies and scientific consultancies. Entry requirements
Applicants must normally hold a bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Biology, or with a major in Biology, or a closely related discipline.
