About the course
The Master of Research in the Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences provides structured research training supported by leading academics. You will complete a combination of advanced coursework and a substantial thesis to develop research design, analysis and scholarly communication skills. The program is designed to prepare graduates for higher degree research or research-focused roles in industry, specialising in civil engineering. The programme strengthens advanced engineering design, systems analysis, and innovation management for complex industry projects.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for research and technical roles across government, consulting and industry, and can progress to doctoral study. Depending on the thesis area, outcomes may include research engineer, civil infrastructure analyst, materials or geotechnical research officer, or project evaluation roles supporting evidence-based decision-making.
