About the course
UOW’s Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (Single Major) (Biomedical Engineering) prepares you to apply engineering principles to healthcare technologies, from medical devices to bioinstrumentation and rehabilitation systems. You’ll develop strong technical foundations and gain practical, industry-informed experience while studying on campus at Wollongong. This is an undergraduate honours degree focused on biomedical engineering practice and innovation. The programme combines engineering fundamentals, design projects, and industry-ready technical problem-solving skills.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across medical device and healthcare technology sectors in roles such as biomedical engineer, bioinstrumentation or biomechanics specialist, bionics and prosthetics support, production or service engineer, development scientist, or rehabilitation technologist. Opportunities span R&D, manufacturing, clinical/technical support and sales support for medical technologies. This is an undergraduate honours qualification for careers in biomedical engineering.
