About the course
This double degree combines advanced public health training with rigorous health research skills to help you tackle current and emerging population health challenges. You’ll learn to investigate and respond to real-world issues in local and global contexts, with strengths in research design, evidence-based practice and intervention planning. The course is supported by expertise from Menzies School of Health Research and includes a supervised research project in public health and health research at master’s level.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue roles across government and non-government sectors where population health and research capability are valued. Career directions include health research, public health practice, health policy and planning, epidemiology, and communicable or chronic disease control. The skills developed also support work in community development and aid organisations, applying evidence-based approaches to improve health outcomes. These opportunities align with a master’s qualification in public health and health research.
