About the course
Curtin’s Doctor of Education (EdD) is a professional doctorate by research for experienced teachers and educators who want doctoral-level study focused on improving practice rather than pursuing a traditional PhD pathway. You’ll combine advanced study with substantial, workplace-relevant research, building high-level inquiry skills to design, evaluate and apply research in education settings and understand related policy implications. This is a doctoral research degree in Education & Teaching.
What you might learn
You’ll learn to plan and conduct a significant, independent investigation in an education topic, critically evaluate research designs and methodologies, and synthesise literature to identify issues for further study. You’ll develop skills to report findings using scholarly conventions, use appropriate technologies for referencing and analysis, manage a major research project with supervisors, and apply ethical and culturally informed research practices. This learning supports doctoral research in Education & Teaching.
