About the course
The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) is a postgraduate research degree in the Faculty of Business and Law that builds advanced research capability through a combination of research training and an independently conducted thesis. You will complete research coursework early in the degree, then plan and execute a supervised project leading to a 40,000-word (or equivalent) thesis. This Masters by research develops scholarly methods and original contribution in business and law.

Graduates are prepared for research-focused roles and further higher degree research study, with skills in research design, methodology, analysis and academic writing. The degree supports pathways into policy, consultancy, analytics and research positions across government, industry and the not-for-profit sector, as well as entry to doctoral study.
