Master of Nursing Practice

About the course

The Master of Nursing Practice course is a pre-registration program that, on successful completion, will allow you to apply to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia to register as a Registered Nurse. The curriculum provides you with the clinical skills, scientific and technical knowledge, and professional understanding and expertise required to practise as a Registered Nurse in contemporary Australian healthcare contexts. The programme develops advanced clinical reasoning, health leadership, and evidence-based practice for complex care environments.

Career outcome

These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework level 9 and Monash Graduate Attributes. Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to:1. critically evaluate contemporary issues within Australian health care contexts2. examine theoretical frameworks for ethical and legal nursing practice3. discuss the physical, psychological and social changes that affect the person with health problems4. demonstrate clinical decision-making and clinical reasoning skills5.
