About the course
Designed for science graduates, this master’s develops practical skills to support criminal investigations. You’ll learn evidence collection and analysis across biological, chemical and physical traces, with training in specimen preparation, contamination control, quality assurance, statistical interpretation and admissibility of evidence. The course emphasises hands-on crime scene reconstruction and building expert-witness capability to prepare and deliver courtroom testimony in forensic science practice.
What you might learn
Develop capability in key forensic disciplines including bloodstain pattern analysis, chemical criminalistics (toxicology, trace analysis, illicit drug identification and HAZMAT scenes), digital and cyber forensics, forensic anthropology and archaeology with clandestine grave examination, fingerprint and impression evidence analysis, and expert witness and courtroom communication skills for presenting forensic evidence.

Graduates can pursue roles supporting investigations across police, national security, defence and related agencies.
