About the course
The Bachelor of Medicinal Chemistry (Honours) focuses on the chemical sciences behind discovering and developing new medicines and diagnostic agents. You’ll build practical laboratory skills using modern analytical and synthetic techniques and learn how drugs are tested and regulated. Study is delivered on campus with hands-on classes in UOW’s science teaching facilities, preparing you for advanced scientific work in medicinal chemistry. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.

Graduates can pursue roles across drug discovery, chemical analysis and related health and science sectors. Career paths may include medicinal or analytical chemist, quality control chemist/analyst, clinical research associate, regulatory scientist, toxicologist, pharmacokineticist, environmental or forensic chemist, and medical science liaison.
