About the course
Designed for graduates with a science or relevant bachelor background, this master’s builds practical forensic capability for criminal investigations. You’ll learn to reconstruct crime scenes and collect, process and interpret biological, chemical and physical evidence, alongside quality assurance and admissibility of evidence. A year-long research project develops specialist expertise and can support progression to PhD study in forensic science at Master’s level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue forensic and investigative roles across law enforcement and related agencies. Typical pathways include crime scene or forensic investigator, forensic biologist, forensic chemist (police, fire and emergency services), forensic analyst, or forensic researcher in universities or government organisations. Opportunities may also exist in pathology laboratories (e.g., toxicology or molecular diagnostics) or private forensic consultancy with a Master’s focus in forensic science.
