About the course

The Master of Film and Television is an integrated coursework masters offering two specialisations: Filmmaking and Screen Producing. It provides intensive, studio-based training across film and television producing, writing, directing and editing, supported by mentoring from staff and industry guests. The course emphasises collaborative production, development of individual screen voices, and engagement with established and emerging screen cultures.

What you might learn

Students build advanced practical and conceptual skills for creating cinematic storytelling across genres, including fiction and documentary. The program develops interpersonal, technical and intellectual capabilities to lead creative projects, collaborate effectively, and support the creativity of others. Graduates gain industry-relevant experience through intensive studio classes, production work and exposure to professional practices and screen cultures.

Career outcome

Graduates are prepared for professional work across the screen industries in roles spanning filmmaking and production. The training supports pathways into writing, directing, editing and producing for film, television and related screen media, including work on independent and collaborative productions.
