About the course
This interdisciplinary master’s degree combines environmental science with environmental law and policy, helping science graduates extend their expertise into regulation, governance and management. You will link scientific perspectives on issues such as ecology, climate change and chemistry with legal reasoning, policy development and decision-making approaches. The Master of Environmental Science and Law is delivered face-to-face at the University of Sydney.

Graduates are prepared for roles where environmental science intersects with law, policy and management. Career pathways may include environmental policy and advisory roles, sustainability and compliance positions, environmental consulting, impact assessment support, and work with government agencies, NGOs or industry on regulation and environmental governance.
