About the course

The Master of Ecosystem Management and Conservation is designed for evolving ecosystem and land management sectors, combining ecological science with an understanding of social and stakeholder contexts. It prepares graduates for ecosystem, forest and landscape management work at both local and landscape scales. The course is developed in consultation with industry, government and NGO partners to ensure practical, work-ready learning aligned with current and emerging needs.

What you might learn

Students develop specialist knowledge in the biophysical and social dimensions of ecosystem management, with an emphasis on applied decision-making across local-to-landscape contexts. The course aims to build hands-on management capabilities alongside skills in consultation, collaboration and working effectively with communities and other stakeholders. It also fosters leadership, problem-solving and cross-sector cooperation for complex conservation and land-use challenges.

Career outcome

Graduates can pursue roles across ecosystem, conservation, forestry and landscape management in government agencies, NGOs and private land/forestry organisations.
