About the course
This Environmental Science major, offered within Curtin’s Bachelor of Science, builds understanding of environmental systems and the skills to manage, monitor and restore natural environments. You’ll explore sustainability challenges such as climate change, pollution, urbanisation and biodiversity protection, with opportunities for hands-on laboratory and field learning and engagement with research. This is an undergraduate environmental science major within a BSc. The programme develops laboratory techniques, scientific writing, and analytical methods for research and industry settings.
Career outcome
Graduates can support sustainable development and resource management through environmental monitoring, assessment and restoration. Career pathways commonly include environmental officer, natural resource manager, environmental regulator, conservation consultant, mine restoration consultant and remediated land consultant. Opportunities span conservation and environmental management, agriculture, resources and energy, and government policy, planning and urban/regional planning. This is an undergraduate pathway in environmental science within a Bachelor of Science.
