About the course
Murdoch’s Master of Creative Arts Therapies combines experiential workshops with supervised clinical practice to develop advanced skills in expressive arts psychotherapy. You’ll critically appraise contemporary literature, build theoretical foundations, and apply creative arts modalities in therapeutic settings. The course offers flexible full-time or part-time study and provides a pathway for students with the Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies to gain advanced standing in this master’s qualification in creative arts therapies.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply creative arts psychotherapy approaches across clinical and community contexts, supporting clients through visual arts, music, dance/movement and drama-based modalities. Career opportunities may include counselling and therapeutic roles in schools, hospitals, aged care, crisis and wellness centres, detention and remand facilities, and addiction treatment services, as well as private practice with experience.
