About the course
The Master of Counselling is designed for graduates with a counselling background to develop advanced, evidence-based therapeutic knowledge and practical skills. You’ll strengthen your ability to build effective counselling relationships and critically apply research to practice. The course includes extensive supervised training with an internal placement at Murdoch’s Caladenia Counselling Clinic and an external placement in a community agency, supporting eligibility for professional registration as a counsellor in Australia. This is a masters-level counselling qualification.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles across counselling and clinical practice in a range of settings. Career pathways include work in counselling services, community and non-government organisations, education and training environments, and health and social assistance sectors. The qualification supports pathways to professional recognition with PACFA and ACA, strengthening employability where supervised practice and ethical, evidence-informed counselling is required. This is a masters-level pathway into professional counselling careers.
