About the course
Deakin’s Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology builds advanced clinical skills to help people manage chronic conditions, injury and disability through evidence-based exercise. You’ll learn in specialist facilities and gain extensive supervised experience, including 300+ hours of clinical placement. The course is an approved pathway toward accreditation with Exercise and Sports Science Australia (ESSA) and includes a research component. This is a master coursework degree in clinical exercise physiology and sports science.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for professional practice as clinical exercise physiologists in a range of health and rehabilitation settings. Career pathways include roles in hospitals and clinics, chronic disease management programs, community health services, compensable schemes and rehabilitation providers, and private practice supporting people with cardiovascular, metabolic, musculoskeletal, cancer and mental health conditions. The course also develops skills for evidence-based practice and applied research in clinical exercise.
