About the course
Enrolment in a master's by research degree involves the independent investigation of a research problem that has been formulated by you as the student. It is expected that the research you undertake will make a contribution to the discipline in which you are enrolled by applying, critiquing, analysing or interpreting that knowledge in ways that facilitate pathways for further learning. You will be supported in your research by a supervisory team. The principal research discipline in the Master of Arts is art history and theory.
Career outcome
Graduates may pursue research and professional roles that draw on advanced skills in critical analysis, scholarly writing and independent inquiry. Possible pathways include further research study (including a PhD), or work in galleries, museums and cultural organisations in areas such as curatorial support, collections and exhibitions, arts administration, writing and editing, and education or public programs. This is a Masters research qualification in arts and humanities. Preparing graduates for advanced professional, specialist, and leadership roles in the discipline.
