About the course
The Bachelor of Philosophy/Bachelor of Theology at The University of Notre Dame Australia is a five-year double degree grounded in the Catholic intellectual tradition. You study Western philosophy from ancient to modern thought alongside Catholic theology, including Scripture and Church teaching. The program develops advanced skills in critical thinking, reasoning and argument, and explores how faith and reason inform each other through historical and contemporary debates in theology and philosophy.
Career outcome
Graduates can apply strong analytical and communication skills across roles that value rigorous reasoning and ethical insight. Career directions may include academic or research pathways, secondary or religious education teaching (subject to further requirements), and work in areas such as public administration, policy development and advocacy. The degree also supports pathways into Church-related or faith-based organisations and further study in philosophy or theology.
