About the course
Deakin’s Master of Artificial Intelligence for Design and Creative Practice focuses on using generative AI in real creative and design contexts. You’ll learn to evaluate and apply GenAI responsibly, considering social, cultural and intellectual property issues, and build capability through studios, workshops and industry-informed briefs. The course culminates in a research project or thesis, preparing master’s graduates to lead ethical, AI-enabled creative practice.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for emerging roles where creative leadership intersects with AI-enabled workflows across design and digital industries. Career directions include creative technology and innovation roles, digital experience and strategy positions, and governance-focused pathways such as responsible AI or ethics leadership. Experience gained through industry-informed projects and optional placements supports work in creative studios, technology companies and cultural organisations in master’s-level design practice.
