About the course
Undertake a higher degree by research in a health-related topic with guidance from an academic supervisor. You will complete a substantial research project and contribute original knowledge, supported by Deakin’s facilities and research environment. Research areas may include sports and exercise science, nutrition, public health, nursing, psychology, health economics and social work. This is a Master by Research in Health Sciences. The programme deepens scientific methodology, data interpretation, and applied research skills for laboratory and field-based careers.
Career outcome
This research degree prepares you for research-focused roles and pathways into academia or further doctoral study. Graduates may pursue careers in universities, government and health agencies, hospitals, NGOs and industry settings where evidence generation and evaluation are valued. Skills developed support roles in research assistance, policy and program evaluation, health promotion, clinical or community research and related analyst positions.
