About the course
This accredited Master of Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology) prepares you for clinical psychologist practice and provides a pathway to clinical psychology endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia. You’ll build advanced assessment and therapy skills, complete supervised fieldwork placements across Melbourne and at the VU Psychology Clinic, and undertake a minor masters research thesis. The course emphasises cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic approaches in clinical settings.
Career outcome
Graduates may work as clinical psychologists in public and private mental health services, hospitals, community health, youth and family services, and specialist clinics. The program’s substantial supervised placements develop capability in psychological assessment, case formulation and evidence-based therapy, including telehealth and group programs.
