This course builds advanced capability to investigate, assess and manage complex environmental challenges across land, water, air, ecosystems and people. You’ll develop interdisciplinary scientific and policy skills, strengthen your understanding of technical, social and political dimensions of environmental decision-making, and tailor study to your interests or role. An advanced research project develops practical research, reporting and communication skills for environmental professional practice.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared for senior roles addressing environmental assessment, impact management and sustainability challenges in government, industry and consultancy. Career pathways include environmental consultant, environmental scientist (impact assessment and management), environmental officer, project coordinator, and roles supporting environmental policy, planning and compliance. This Master of Environmental Science supports progression to leadership positions in environmental management practice.
