About the course
This graduate diploma introduces core community development ideas and practice used to create and foster community-led change in Australia and internationally. Designed for practitioners and graduates, it builds capability through real community projects spanning Indigenous communities, urban agriculture and sustainability, creative arts initiatives and activism. Learning uses case studies and creative digital media, with workshops to develop practical engagement approaches in community development at postgraduate level.
Career outcome
Graduates may work across community and social services, local and state government, humanitarian organisations, NGOs and international development agencies. Roles can include community arts/development/service coordinator, engagement officer, policy advisor, international aid worker, and place and activations officer. The course supports progression into broader community planning, sustainable development and Indigenous governance pathways as a postgraduate qualification in community development.
