About the course

The Uni Ready Enabling Program is a six-month, full-time pathway program for students who want to progress into the University of Melbourne’s Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce but do not yet meet entry requirements. Students complete four subjects, including two mathematics-focused subjects designed to build maths capability and satisfy the VCE Mathematical Methods entry requirement, plus two first-year bachelor-level subjects aligned to their chosen degree. The program is government funded and fee-free for students, and successful completion can provide a guaranteed pathway into the selected degree with credit granted for the two non-maths subjects.

What you might learn

The program aims to prepare students academically for undergraduate study in Science or Commerce by strengthening mathematical foundations and introducing university-level learning through first-year bachelor subjects. It develops key study capabilities such as critical thinking, numeracy and analysis, collaboration, and time management to support a confident transition into Melbourne’s learning environment. It also aims to improve readiness for university life through additional support services provided during the program.

Career outcome

As an enabling pathway, the program’s primary outcome is progression into the Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Commerce upon meeting the required completion and WAM threshold. This progression can lead to a wide range of careers in science- and commerce-related industries depending on the chosen bachelor degree and subsequent majors, including roles in business, finance, data and analytics, and scientific sectors. Students also gain early exposure to university-level study and credited subjects that can accelerate completion of their undergraduate degree.
