About the course
The TRACKS Indigenous Foundation Program is a fee-free preparatory pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students planning to enter university study. Delivered online and on campus with support from UNE’s Oorala Aboriginal Centre, it builds confidence, academic literacy and core study skills for transition into diploma or bachelor degrees. It also supports eligibility preparation for specific pathway programs. This is a Foundation Studies program. The programme builds core academic English, study skills, and subject fundamentals for university degree entry.
Career outcome
This program is designed as a stepping stone rather than a direct vocational qualification. Graduates typically progress to further study at UNE, using improved academic skills, communication and study strategies to succeed in a diploma or bachelor degree. The program can also strengthen readiness for competitive entry pathways such as preparatory programs linked to medicine. This is a Foundation Studies pathway program. Supporting progression into undergraduate degree programmes in the chosen discipline.
Entry requirements
Entry is open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students seeking admission to an undergraduate course or seeking further tertiary preparation.
