About the course
Murina (Aboriginal Enabling) Program is a pathway program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to build confidence and academic capability for undergraduate study or other vocational goals. Through a Tasmanian Aboriginal lens, you explore people, place and politics using narrative and storytelling while developing core study skills. Delivered with blended learning and ‘On Country’ experiences across UTAS campuses, this is a Foundation Studies program in Indigenous studies and academic preparation.
Career outcome
This enabling program is designed to prepare students for further study rather than a direct job outcome. It supports progression into undergraduate degrees and strengthens capabilities valued across many workplaces, including academic writing, research, critical thinking, communication and digital literacy. Graduates may use the program as a stepping stone toward roles that benefit from Aboriginal cultural knowledge, community engagement and public-sector awareness after completing a subsequent undergraduate qualification in Arts & Humanities-related disciplines.
