About the course
The Diploma in Information Technology is a pathway program that helps you transition into university-level IT study and progress to QUT’s Bachelor of Information Technology. You’ll build foundational academic capabilities and practical computing knowledge in a supportive learning environment, with multiple start dates across the year. Successful completion can provide credit (advanced standing) toward the bachelor degree as you continue in IT & Computer Science at diploma level. The programme delivers hands-on programming, networking, and technical support skills for IT employment.
Career outcome
This diploma is designed as a pathway rather than a direct professional qualification, preparing you for further study and entry into the IT industry through QUT’s Bachelor of Information Technology. It supports exploration of areas such as coding, web-related development and systems-focused study, helping you choose a direction for later specialisation. Graduates commonly progress into bachelor-level preparation for roles like software developer, systems analyst or IT support in the IT & Computer Science field.
