About the course
This diploma-to-bachelor pathway is designed to help you transition confidently into QUT’s Bachelor of Information Technology. Equivalent to the first year of the bachelor, it builds academic readiness alongside hands-on experience exploring IT, computer science and information systems. You’ll study in a supportive environment with smaller classes and additional contact time, preparing you for successful undergraduate study in IT & Computer Science. The programme builds programming, systems thinking, and data skills for technology-driven industries and startups.
Career outcome
Graduates are prepared to continue into the Bachelor of Information Technology and pursue careers across the IT sector. Depending on your chosen major, you can progress toward roles focused on building software and systems, improving usability and security, or designing technology-enabled solutions for organisations. This combined pathway supports progression into IT careers in industries such as business, government and digital services through further bachelor-level study in IT & Computer Science.
