About the course
The Diploma of Engineering introduces fundamental engineering concepts and prepares you for university-level study through small classes and tailored academic support. You’ll build core skills in engineering, maths, physics and programming while developing communication and study capabilities. Designed as a pathway, it is equivalent to first-year undergraduate study and can allow progression into second year of a bachelor degree in engineering-related disciplines. The programme focuses on applied engineering drawings, workshop skills, and technical maintenance competencies.
Career outcome
This diploma is a pathway qualification that builds foundational technical and academic skills for further engineering study rather than direct professional accreditation. Graduates commonly progress into a bachelor degree (eg engineering or science) and continue toward roles in engineering design, civil, mechanical, or broader technology-focused industries. It supports entry into undergraduate engineering pathways by strengthening calculus, physics, programming and engineering fundamentals at diploma level.
