Energy Engineering Major (BEng Hons) prepares future engineers for the global energy transition. You’ll build expertise to develop, implement and manage sustainable and secure energy systems, combining theory with practical work using industry-relevant tools and simulation platforms. The major emphasises decarbonisation, net-zero goals, sustainability principles, social responsibility and Indigenous perspectives to address complex energy engineering challenges at bachelor honours level.
Career outcome
Graduates can pursue roles such as energy (systems) engineer, subsurface energy engineer, energy researcher, energy transition consultant and energy conversion consultant. Career opportunities span renewable and conventional energy, hydrogen production, mining, electricity networks and energy supply, and government agencies involved in energy policy and infrastructure.
