About the course
The Graduate Diploma of Research in Science and Engineering combines advanced coursework with foundational research training to help you explore a research direction in STEM. You’ll build core capabilities in research communication and undertake research-focused elective units and placements, with flexibility to tailor study to your interests. It can also provide a pathway to the Master of Research and further higher-degree research in science and engineering. The programme strengthens advanced engineering design, systems analysis, and innovation management for complex industry projects.
Career outcome
This course develops research-ready skills valued across science and engineering workplaces, including critical thinking, analysis, and professional research communication. Graduates may progress into research assistant and laboratory/technical roles, or use the qualification to pivot into analytically focused positions across technology, data, and scientific industries.
