About the course
The Graduate Diploma of Laws is designed to let you advance your skills and knowledge of developments in the principles, practice, and scholarship of one or more areas of law. You can focus on a specialised area or select from a broad range of electives for professional practice. You will investigate contemporary issues in law, practice and scholarship, and evaluate complex legal issues from theoretical, global and interdisciplinary perspectives. The programme develops advanced legal analysis, professional practice skills, and specialist knowledge for complex legal and regulatory contexts.
Career outcome
These course outcomes are aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework level 8 and Monash Graduate Attributes. Upon successful completion of this course it is expected that students will be able to:1. demonstrate knowledge and understanding of recent developments in selected areas of law or professional practice2. demonstrate knowledge of legal research principles and methods appropriate to the discipline3. apply knowledge and reasoning skills to critically evaluate theory and practice in selected areas of law4.
